To our valued customers, and central Ohio Community from Patrick John President of TransCounty Title Agency

My fellow Ohioans:

During this unprecedented time in our state and country where real estate is a significant economic driver, TransCounty Title is open and ready to serve our community in all 88 counties. Our dedicated team of professionals are here to ensure that we operate with as little interruption as possible to get you to the closing table. The Governors Stay at home Order which goes into effect tonight March 23 at 11:59PM has determined that title companies are an essential service and included in business to remain open.

As the President of TransCounty Title, I am extremely proud of our team as they work daily to ensure that your closings are handled with integrity, ethics and professionalism while working together to make this a positive experience during these difficult times. Therefore, I wanted to update all of you as to the steps we are taking.

TransCounty Title is constantly cleaning and disinfecting our facilities for the protection of our staff and clients, several times a day. Our staff is washing hands, using hand sanitizer, and disinfecting all public spaces before and after each closing so please come to our office to close in the coming weeks. These sterilization products will be available to our clients as well. We will be following the order to have separate operating hours for vulnerable populations. We are implementing separate operating hours for elderly and vulnerable customers, to 8:30-10AM daily. In addition, beginning March 24 we will have masks and gloves available for any client who wishes to wear.

We encourage our clients to come to our office to close in the coming weeks as we can control our environment with sterilization products and protocols. You may be hearing a lot about RON (remote online notary) software platform. Currently all RON providers are overwhelmed and cannot handle the influx of business at this time.

TransCounty Title still has access to all county recorders and courthouses to make sure your documents are recorded and to make sure we get your title searches completed on time with your incoming orders.

Here are some tips for you and your clients.

Be sure that your lender can fund and wire your funds

  1. Discuss whether you need an addendum to the purchase contract to extend the closing date.
  2. Be wary of Cyber Criminals hacking home computers as more folks are working from home now.
  3. Always verify via phone call with your title company wiring instructions or in person at our office.
  4. For new title orders please send us the prior title policy as it dramatically decreases the time to do a title search.
